Why start this blog

Since May of 2001 when I first received a printed copy of this prophecy from Dr. Samuel Doctorian in Beijing, China, I have been utterly amazed as the events described in it have come to pass. I do not know why I should be amazed, for Dr. Doctorian is a godly, spirit-filled man who has carried the gospel of Christ to the nations his whole life. As well, it is clearly written in scripture that "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams." Acts 2:17

The truth is I have felt a growing sense of guilt and unease as I have watched these prophesies unfold. Guilt from not sharing with others sooner the clear impressions I have felt the Holy Spirit give regarding the testimony of this prophecy. Unease from naturally not liking to be the bearer of bad news and personally wanting to see nothing but good days for my family, children, and children's children.

Despite the apparent gloominess, however, this prophecy is about hope. The hope inherent in God's loving discipline to get our attention with the goal of bringing us back to Himself and His priorities for our lives. I firmly believe that the terrible events that have not yet come to pass can yet be avoided if we--the nations and people of this earth--turn towards Christ and commit ourselves to His grace-filled purposes for our lives. 2nd Chronicles 7:14 says:

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

and Jeremiah 18:7-10 says:

"7 If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, 8 and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. 9 And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, 10 and if it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it."

Lord, may my nation, and all nations, repent and turn to you to be healed. May you turn back your hand from the wrath spoken of in this prophecy--with our strongest prayers being the actions of turning from our sins and into your grace-filled arms.

In Christ's Name,
Amen
